About Us

The Story

There is an old Persian story of a great bird named the Simorgh (sometimes spelled Simurgh). Myths, legends and stories of this bird vary from teller to teller but they all carry a lesson. Some versions recall this bird not being one bird but being made of 30 birds- this flock of 30 birds traveled together across the world spreading the seeds that have created all of the living plants we see today. This bird is the pinnacle representation of what Nomads are & do. We spread seeds of creation, information, progression and many of us do it in the spirit of joy. We travel and move as one moving organism for the betterment of the future and creating the life we want to see by living it.

Nomads are the quintessential movers of all of this, and they never stop existing. Nomads are a group of people who've existed through time immemorial- trendy or not. We are an elusive unclaimed nation- looking out for each other in our pockets of communities, teaching each other, trading "this for that", seeking each other and connecting.

The Simorgh Token and App came from the founders lived experience as a nomad who spent most of her time living on farms doing work trade, volunteering at festivals and farmers markets and various community events with a desire to just be involved in community without money needing to be involved. There was plenty magic in that time period, there were many campfire stories earned; to just live it was enough. One night the project came into full scope- as if it landed out of the blue. Experiencing community, hitchhiking, farming, living opportunities, learning and watching how others care about each other in the nomad world was living inside of her, incubating into seeing how it all connects until it was ready to be created into something that gives back & supports this world.

We are a Nomad Nation - seeking each other, for each other. This is the connective thread.

The Token

What it does: The Simorgh Company is a funnel for connecting nomads from all over the spectrum- whether they're digital nomads, woofers, students traveling abroad, traveling independent contractors (i.e. chefs, doulas, musicians/DJ's, facilitators, teachers etc.), people with specialised skills to offer (cob house building, regenerative farm application and knowledge, team building)- we create the platform for them to find work & living within vetted communities while creating a streamline networking platform.

33% of nomads report feelings of loneliness

35% of nomads report difficulty in networking

25% of nomads have a hard time making work and travel match in a way that is supportive to them as a functioning human.

22% of nomads express a need to unplug

The Simorgh app opens avenues to connect our Nomads to eco-integrated intentional communities that offer payed stay or stay for trade or rent for stay. We understand that loneliness and unplugging often has to do with the nature of traveling in the digital age, airbnbs are popular for that home feeling and hotels are where people in business end up most- the communities who offer stay that we bring on are purposefully brought on because they value community activity and relationship with land and animals. A majority of where you stay will have opportunities to get integrated with people who value connection in this way.

There is another feature on the app that allows project creators to hire nomads or offer stay for trade in a specific skill creating job opportunities.

We onboard anywhere from grassroots communities to retreat/learning centres to restaurants/small businesses and festivals who need people to be part of whatever they're creating. This could range from 1 week retreats that need facilitators or chefs to 3 month workshops like building cob houses for example & if a nomad offers something like digital marketing packages to these businesses this acts as a funnel to the people who need it.

How people decide the worth of their interaction whether it's money, the Simorgh crypto-token or by trade is entirely up to those coordinating the interaction.

We have a special feature that acts like Craigslist but specifically for nomads. What does this mean?

case example A: if I'm someone who's been traveling for a while and I have a camper van attachment but I want to be done traveling and I have a desire to pick up rock climbing I can trade or sell my camper van attachment for rock climbing tools/accessories.

case example B: If I'm totally over and done with trying to start a podcast I can trade or sell my mics for whatever I want next in my life.

The rules are you can only trade or sell things that are beneficial or useful to person's journey, creative endeavour or essential supplies for purpose; you can't sell your old bed frame, old tv etc.

How is the token integrated?

The Simorgh community prioritizes helping the eco integrated communities and businesses who house, hire and feed our travelers in their build out process. We are working with our eco-integrated intentional communities on building housing for the travelers- this requires investment- when you invest your money into our communities that results in receiving tokens, when we want to highlight a certain community we will offer token drops for volunteering or offering a service and active participation in grounding them into reality.

plans for this token as a utility tool:

Select communities as trade for stay.

How to earn a coin

The way you earn a coin is by being an active part of the community. Some examples of generating coins would be:

$1 investment into a project is 1 token earned and the ways to invest in a project is determined by the project itself. It can sometimes mean NFT's are involved or gifts.

Volunteering at chosen projects/festivals will have a coin drop attached to it

When we welcome a new business (restaurant, farm, retreat center, festival) into our ecosystem, coin drops for showing up for them within a certain time frame will be released.

This way we are creating a very real, down to earth map and real life involvement of where our grander community is. This is what creates the one connective thread we need and opens avenues of real connection with the intention of building something beautiful for the future.

The Simorgh Token values the entire ecosystem of what is essentially the Nomad Nation. We've identified 4 legs that the Nomad Nation stands on

1. The Space Holders (farms & retreat centers)- these are the people and places that house our traveling facilitators, teachers, musicians, chefs and artists- either through trade of services or rent. Without them we'd be a floating glob. By partnering with these folks we are grounding our presence and giving support to the people who can hold it down which provides real life, fulfilling opportunities to get connected nation wide.

2. The Creators & Volunteers - The people who make it come alive with classes, music, food, reason to gather and art. The people who are looking to lead communities, gatherings and cultures and integrate the old ways in new ways. These are our Nomads. By integrating with these individuals we are filling the space with those who have desire in participating in building community and culture.

3. Businesses - restaurants, retreat centers & festivals are the businesses that the Nomad Nation interacts with most. We integrate businesses based on their values, we are a slow growing community that is case by case and we appreciate businesses that support and value buying from local farms who's ethos is aligned with regenerative, organic, sustainable farming. When we integrate them into the community this adds the layer of guidance on the traveler's path to the places that are building towards each other and being self-sustained.

4. The Investors- these are people who's ethos and values are strongly rooted in a desire to see the future grow in a cohesive and holistic way. These are people who are interested in 501c3's, independent farm businesses, retreat centers, festivals and restaurants that fall within the belief systems that value the creation of a holistic future.

When looking at this in a combined way we can see the whole picture. We hold each other together and support each other by showing up and being an active member. We are one Nomad Nation, this is the thread to connect it all.
